Ghana’s number one Table Tennis player, Derek Abrefa, over the weekend defeated his
rival and number two seed, Felix Lartey at the RLG Hathiramani Sports Hall, Accra
Sports Stadium, in the 2017 Edition of the Chairman’s Cup.
He won three sets out four, whilst Lartey won just a set out of the four.
He took home GH¢ 2,000 and sports kits from the President of the Ghana Table Tennis
Federation (GTTF), Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu.
Abrefa, in a post match interview said, the win would motivate him to prepare
adequately for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
He expressed appreciation to his coaches Ebenezer Anang Whyte and Nathaniel Somuah
(Captain Tesano TT Spinners Club) for their guidance.
