Sai, Kautondokwa to fight Friday

Lions Boxing Promotions has announced that the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) middleweight world title eliminator between Obodai Sai and Walter Kautondokwa, undefeated Africa middleweight champion will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Friday.
According to a statement signed by Mr Victor Ahiakpor, the president of Lions Boxing Promotions, the fight has already been sanctioned by the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) and International Boxing Federation (IBF) and would therefore not be affected by the postponement of Floyd Mayweather’s ‘Undefeated tour’ to Ghana.
Mr Ahiakpor said Ghanaian boxing fans will be thrilled by the exploits of very talented boxers expected to mount the ring.
He said Obodai Sai 32-2 (25KO’s) is poised to hand Walter Kautondokwa his first career defeat, whereas Kautondokwa 14-0 (13KO’s) has promised to leave Ghana still undefeated.
“There are other top local fights including the rematch between Michael Ansah ‘One Bullet’ and Patrick Okine.
“Rafael Mensah, who is ranked third in the WBA super featherweight world ratings will take on Edward Kambasi as Emmanuel Martey ‘Mayweather’ lock horns with Kofi Johnson in a 10-round super middleweight contest.
“Kpakpo Allotey will take on Tackie Annan in a national super lightweight championship.
“We urge all Ghanaians to be present at the Bukom arena on Friday. The regular tickets will go for GH¢20 and GH¢50 at the ring side,” Mr Ahiakpor said.-GNA
