We Are Not Serious As A Country – Ghana Swimming Association Chief

The Ghana Swimming Association president, Theophilus Wilson, has taken a strong swipe at the government.

The Ghana Swimming Association are expected to travel to Hungary for the World Swimming competition and congress which starts from July 13th.

But the association’s trip to Hungary is in limbo due to financial constraints.

“We are as an association have written to our world body to help us but help will not be enough to take us to Hungary so we have written our proposal to NSA and hope for better response ”
“It is the responsibility of the state to help us reach that far,” he said.

He concluded: “I will not blame Hon.Isaac Asiamah for anything but the state, if we really want to do sports in this country then we need to invest more because less than twenty million dollars for the whole sporting discipline in the country is like we are joking.”

The congress will cover all the events and discipline under swimming like water polo, master swimming and diving before the general Congress on 22nd July. The main competition will start on 23rd July to 30th July.
